2. En tentant ma chance, j’ai demandé à Mélodie si elle voulait travailler avec moi.	2. While trying my luck, I asked Mélodie if she wanted to work with me.
3. Elle m’a répondu «oui» en souriant.	3. She answered “yes” while smiling.
4. En s’asseyant à côté de moi dans l’autobus, Luc m’a demandé à quoi je pensais.	4. While sitting next to me on the bus, Luc asked me what I was thinking.
5. Je n’ai rien dit, ne voulant pas lui révéler mon attirance pour Mélodie.	5. I did not say anything, not wanting to reveal my attraction to Mélodie .
6. «Monsieur Renard est bien pensif aujourd’hui», a-t-il dit en éclatant de rire.	6. “Mr. Renard is very thoughtful today,” he said, bursting into laughter.
7. En attendant le commencement du cours de français, j’ai suggéré à Mélodie qu’on se rencontre en fin de semaine pour travailler sur le projet.	7. While waiting for the beginning of the French course, I suggested to Mélodie that we meet at the end of the week to work on the project.
8. Elle m’a dit que ce n’était pas possible, m’expliquant qu’elle passait la fin de semaine à Montréal avec sa famille.	8. She told me it was not possible, explaining that she was spending the weekend in Montreal with her family.
9. En sachant que je ne refuserais pas, Mélodie m’a demandé d’écrire le travail tout seul.	9. Knowing that I would not refuse, Mélodie asked me to write the work alone.
10. En réfléchissant, je me suis rendu compte qu’elle n’avait eu aucune intention de faire sa part du travail.	10. While thinking about it, I realized that she had no intention of doing her share of the work.
