DELF A2 Prim
DELF A2 Prim is an official French exam for children aged 7 to 12 that assesses their ability to use French in everyday situations. It builds on the A1 Prim level, recognizing that young learners can communicate more comfortably and confidently in familiar contexts. At this level, children can:
Understand and respond to simple conversations about familiar topics, like family, hobbies, school, and holidays.
Give short descriptions or information about themselves, their routines, or activities.
Ask and answer questions using basic sentences and expressions.
Write brief texts like simple stories, short letters, or personal experiences.
The exam consists of four sections:
Listening (about 25 minutes): Children listen to short dialogues or descriptions and answer questions to show their understanding.
Reading (about 30 minutes): They read simple texts, such as posters, messages, or short stories, and answer basic questions.
Writing (about 30 minutes): They complete tasks like writing a short postcard, describing a picture, or filling out a simple form.
Speaking (6-8 minutes): Children engage in a conversation with the examiner, describing a picture or talking about their daily life.
The goal of DELF A2 Prim is to build children’s confidence and encourage them to keep exploring and enjoying the French language. It highlights their ability to communicate in common, real-life situations.
